Indiana State Police Assist with Double Homicide Investigation in Pulaski County

On Friday, Indiana State Police were called to Pulaski County to investigate a suspected double homicide.

According to ISP representatives, evidence from the investigation lead to the arrest of 32-year-old Ross Stacy, of Winamac, the morning of Saturday, March 10th. Ross Stacy is being held in the Pulaski County Jail and has been formally charged with Murder.

An Indiana State Police press release states that ISP Detectives were called to a residence in the 3900 block of West County Road 200 North in Pulaski County on the evening of Friday, March 9th.

A family member reportedly went to the residence for a well-being check, as the relative living there had not been heard from for approximately two days. Police say the family member found two people dead in the house and notified the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers with the Pulaski County Sheriff Department responded and secured the scene then called for ISP detectives and ISP Crime Scene Investigation personnel.

Police officials report that the two deceased individuals have been identified as 59-year-old Loss Stacy who was the resident of the home and 56-year-old Mary Kurek, of Gary. Kurek was reportedly the girlfriend of Loss Stacy. The family of the deceased has been notified and the manner and cause of death are pending autopsy and toxicology results.

In their report, police mentioned that the alleged murder suspect Ross Stacy is the son of the victim, Loss Stacy.

ISP added that all criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
