Pulaski Commissioners to Continue Discussing Proposed EMS Changes Today

The Pulaski County Commissioners will continue discussing several proposed changes at the EMS Department this morning. EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo has suggested reinstating on-call pay, reimbursing employees for the cost of paramedic training, and waiving ambulance fees for county employees and volunteer firefighters.

The commissioners are also expected to award a bid for paving work on County Road 1450 West just outside of Francesville. The county received three bids for the two-and-a-half mile project, ranging from just under $349,000 to more than $521,000. Seventy-five percent of the cost would be covered by the state’s Community Crossings program.

In other business, an ordinance outlining how Pulaski County would spend its $2.4 million share of the American Rescue Plan will be discussed. Four County Counseling Center CEO Dr. Carrie Cadwell will give her annual update, and Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer will discuss the county’s building projects and COVID-19 response.

This morning’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting starts at 8:30 EDT at the Pulaski County Highway Garage. It will be streamed live on the Pulaski County, Indiana, Government Facebook page.
