The Winamac Park Board will consider upgrades to Veterans Memorial Park tonight. Board members have been discussing the addition of a decorative archway, and the VFW and American Legion have each offered to donate a bench. On top of that, the American Legion has offered to place its cannon in the park, should it decide to sell its current building.
A decision on a confined animal feeding operation in rural Pulaski County may come as soon as Monday. Back in May, the Pulaski County Advisory Plan Commission recommended that the property at 300 South and 700 West be rezoned from General Agriculture to Intensive Agriculture. North Judson residents will have to wait another week for the start of curbside recycling pickup. A flyer distributed by Republic Services incorrectly stated that recycling service begins this Thursday. Company officials say the correct date is Thursday, August 10. Pickup will then take place every other week.

A Koontz Lake man was found guilty of three meth-related charges by a jury in Starke Circuit Court Thursday. Troy Bell was arrested in April of 2016, following a drug raid in Koontz Lake.

Lawyers with cases in Pulaski County can now file many court documents electronically. Electronic filing is now an option for over 40 types of civil and criminal cases in Pulaski Circuit and Superior Courts. It will become mandatory on Friday, September 22.
