5/18/17 – A resident in the 2700 block of Airstream Drive in North Judson advised someone cut tree branches on her property and someone put logs on her property.
5/18.17 – A North Judson Police Department officer attempted to stop a pickup truck driven by Jeremy Lee Hansen, 34, of North Judson at the intersection of Talmer and Silver Streets. A pursuit ensued eastbound on State Road 10 through Starke County, with Hansen reportedly firing shots out the rear window of the truck at the Starke County and North Judson officers who were in pursuit. He continued into LaPorte County, where he shot himself on County Road 2300 South east of U.S. 421 near LaCrosse. Hansen died as a result of the gunshot wound.

5/20/17 – Starke County Clerk Vicki Cooley reported counterfeit money was received in the clerk’s office.
5/20/17 – Railroad Township Trustee Mandy Thomason advised several vehicles are parked in the grassy commons area on the east side of U.S. 421 near the Oasis. She says they are not supposed to be parked there.
5/20/17 – A North Judson resident reported receiving a scam telephone call regarding a problem with her credit card.

2/10/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office notes Terry Lynn Hooker, 71, Monterey, was convicted of child molesting in Starke County in February of 2007 and is required to register every year. He last registered on Feb. 7, 2016 at the Starke County Sheriff’s Office. He still owes the annual $50 registration fee for 2015 and 2016, as well as 2017, and has yet to register this year. He has been notified of his obligation.

Another “Stop” sign at the intersection had been knocked over, as well as a “New Traffic Pattern Ahead” sign. The “Stop” sign is valued at $40. Two steel sign posts were replaced, valued at $15 each. 11/28/16 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS And Bass Lake Fire Department all responded to a single-vehicle accident on 850 South east of Ora at the S Curve. The driver apparently missed the curve and went off the roadway into the trees.
11/29/16 – A parent of a student at Oregon-Davis reported her son’s iPad missing.
11/29/16 – The owner of property at the intersection of 200 east and 400 South in Knox reported the car that has been tearing up his property is stuck in the mud and the female occupant has left. He requested the vehicle be towed at her expense.
11/29/16 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Hamlet Police Department, Starke County EMS, Hamlet and Koontz Lake Fire Departments all responded to bomb threat at Oregon-Davis Schools. It turned out to be a hoax.
11/29/16 – A motorcycle was reported stolen in the 3900 block of east Toto Road in Knox.
11/29/16 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported at the intersection of State Road 10 and 100 East in North Judson.
11/30/16 – A North Judson resident filed a fraud report after giving all of her personal information to a person claiming to be a representative of Apple.
11/30/16 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on 250 West by Chesapeake Run Golf Course.
12/01/16 – Starke County Maintenance Supervisor Jim Coad requested an officer in the 100 block of South Cleveland Street in Knox for a report of graffiti on the side of the Starke County records building.
12/02/16 – A Knox resident reported unauthorized use of his debit card.
12/02/16 – A single-vehicle property damage accident was reported in the 6800 block of Frontage Road in Hamlet. The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Hamlet Police, Hamlet Fire Department and Starke County EMS all responded.
12/03/16 – Theft and other suspicious activity were reported at a pole barn in the 10000 block of east 600 North in Knox.
12/03/16 – A hit-and-run accident involving two pickup trucks going in opposite directions was reported in the 1300 block of west State Road 10 in North Judson.
12/03/16 – A vehicle break-in was reported in the 3900 block of south Fawn Trail in North Judson, and unspecified items were taken.

12/03/16 Ronald Melvyn Larsen, 43, Chesterton – Possession of a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance.
