A piano and a number of cleaning supplies were among the donations accepted by the Eastern Pulaski School Board last month. Superintendent Dara Chezem told board members that there had been several very generous donations. “Standard Industrial donated over $2,000 worth of items, including washing machine soap, dish soap, floor cleaners, caps for the cafeteria workers,” she said.

Paving work on the Eastern Pulaski Schools campus is being held up by the concrete portion of the project. Superintendent Dan Foster gave an update to the school board Monday.
The Eastern Pulaski Schools campus will get major paving and sidewalk upgrades in the coming months. The school board awarded a $2.4-million construction bid to Rieth-Riley Construction Company Monday.
The Eastern Pulaski School Board will decide today whether to move ahead with a large-scale paving project on the schools’ campus. The work would include resurfacing the driveways and most of the parking lots. Plans also call for sidewalk repair and traffic flow updates.

The Eastern Pulaski School Board continues planning for a large-scale paving project on the schools’ campus. Joe Briggs with Gibraltar Design reviewed the project scope and preliminary cost estimates with board members Monday.
At the Eastern Pulaski School Board meeting Monday evening, board members discussed and considered information pertaining to proposed paving and concrete projects.
Superintendent Dan Foster explained that there are some safety concerns with the current drop-off locations at the schools. Foster said, “The afternoon pick-up procedures aren’t too bad but the morning drop-off procedures, we’ve really struggled with coming up with a good way to do that with the layout of our campus. The Eastern Pulaski School Board scholarship fund got a little bit bigger Monday night after the board approved a donation from Gibraltar Design.
Superintendent Dan Foster explained that in the past, Gibraltar had thanked the school corporation for their business by hosting a dinner or another social function of some kind. However, this year, rather than trying to coordinate with varying schedules the company decided to show their appreciation by sending a $250 donation.
Superintendent Foster said the money will go toward the annual school board scholarship which would bring it up to approximately $10,000.

During their meeting Monday evening, the Eastern Pulaski School Board unanimously approved a a roofing contract with Insley Systems Inc. Gibraltar Design Inc. has been the main construction consultant for the corporation during their building renovations. Certain projects are out of Gibraltar’s wheel house so they make recommendations for special projects. They submitted a proposal to the board for Insley to tackle the roofing project. Representatives from Gibraltar Design presented updates in the building project to the Eastern Pulaski School Board Monday night. The project includes upgrades to the elementary, middle and high schools. Main entrances will be secured, restrooms updated, classrooms improved including the change of chalkboards to marker boards and replacing windows. Continue reading
The members of the Eastern Pulaski School Board will approve action items concerning contracts and the building project in a meeting this afternoon.
After the last special meeting, the board members met in an extended work session to fine tune the building project that includes all buildings to upgrade them to future education standards. Security upgrades will be done as well as classroom improvements and heating and cooling.
