The Knox Board of Public Works discussed plans concerning a water connection to a building addition at the Traffic Control Specialists (TCS) business on Hamilton Drive.
TCS officials plan to place a pre-engineered steel structure a 90×120 building behind the existing building in a planned expansion project. The south wall on the structure will be designed as an expandable wall.
Engineer Lee Nagai had some questions about the water connection to the building. They would like to connect a water line to the building but they were unsure if the service line could extend off of their existing line without installing an additional meter. They would pay for the same amount of service. Knox Mayor Dennis Estok noted that the city’s current ordinance calls for an additional meter as it is being fed to an additional building.
The Board of Works members did approve the connection, but will follow what the ordinance requires.
