Jacqueline Jay Podell, 46, and Michael Wilson, 53, both of Winamac, were sentenced last week in U.S. District Court, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Kirsch.

Driving almost 100 miles per hour on U.S. 30 with a loaded firearm reportedly led to the arrest of a Georgia man Sunday. LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies say that around 5:15 Sunday morning, they measured an eastbound passenger vehicle’s speed at 96 miles per hour in the 6800 block of West U.S. 30.
