State Road 10 Closed in Starke County due to Hazmat Situation

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation Northwest, as of 11:30am Central Time on Thursday July 17th, all lanes of State Road 10 are closed between CR 300 E and CR 350 E (west of U.S. 35) due to a large hazmat situation.

La Porte Police SWAT Apprehends Fugitive with Multiple Felony Warrants

According to a press release from the La Porte Police Department, on the morning of July 15, 2025, the La Porte PD SWAT Team, with assistance from members of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, successfully apprehended 21-year-old Kyron Meriweather-Burks on multiple outstanding felony arrest warrants.
