One Occupant Sustains Injuries After 2-Vehicle Crash on 300 E and 250 N

One person was transported to the hospital for injuries, following a two-vehicle crash in Starke County on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Starke County Central Dispatch Center, a pick-up truck and passenger car collided at the intersection of 250 N and 300 E. The Starke County Sheriff’s Department, the Knox Fire Department and Starke County EMS responded to the scene. Continue reading

Police, Fire and Medical Units Respond to a Two-Vehicle Accident on U.S. 35 and 400 N

The Starke County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center confirmed that they received a call about a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 35 and 400 N at 6:17 p.m.

Officers from the Hamlet and Knox Police Departments also responded to the accident, along with members of the Knox and Hamlet Fire Departments. Dispatch reported that all medical units and two helicopters were also sent to the scene. Injuries were reported, however, the number of individuals involved and the severity of said injuries are not currently known.  Continue reading

Alleged Vehicle Theft Suspect Flees Resulting in 4-Vehicle Crash in Warsaw

Two fatalities and critical injuries have been reported after a vehicle allegedly fled from police and ran a red light Saturday night.

According to an ISP press release, around 9:20 p.m. on January 13th, an Indiana State Trooper was responding to a theft that apparently occurred at the Meijer located at 1200 Lake City Highway in Warsaw. The report indicates that the trooper saw a car that matched the description of the suspect vehicle, which was described as a white 2003 Pontiac Grand Am.

The suspect vehicle reportedly fled eastbound on US 30 and drove through a red light at the intersection of US 30 and Parker Street, crashing into three other vehicles. Continue reading

Three Vehicle Accident on State Road 8 Remains Under Investigation

The Starke County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center was able to confirm that a three vehicle accident took place in the vicinity of County Road 600 East and State Road 8, Sunday evening. Two medical helicopters were called to the scene and an unspecified number of individuals were transported to Starke Hospital for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation. More details pertaining to specifics will be released as that information becomes available.

Pulaski County Officials Investigate Accident

 
 

Officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a serious accident that occurred just before noon ET on Monday on County Road 100 South at 600 West.

No other details have been released at this time. Information will be passed along as it becomes available.

One Injured in Marshall County Accident

 
 

One person was flown from the scene of a two vehicle accident U.S. 31 and 7B Road in Marshall County Friday morning.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies found that a passenger car was southbound on U.S. 31 approaching the intersection with 7B Road in the driving lane. A semi was also southbound but in the passing lane and for some unknown reason, the passenger car turned into the path of the semi. The semi struck the car on the driver’s side.

Minimal Injuries in Three Vehicle Accident North of Knox

 
 

Starke County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel were called to a three vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of a vehicle was traveling north of Knox and attempted to turning left into a driveway on U.S. 35 just south of State Road 8 west. The car behind that vehicle slowed and waited for the vehicle to turn when a third vehicle and rear-ended the second vehicle. The second vehicle then hit the vehicle turning left.

Three Juveniles Ejected after Single Vehicle Accident in Marshall County

 
 

Three juveniles were injured in an afternoon accident in Marshall County.

Emergency responders and Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at Kenilworth Road and 17th Road just south of Argos. The preliminary investigation suggests that the juveniles were traveling north on Kenilworth Road when their Jeep ran off the road and rolled several times.

One Dies in Early Morning Accident in Starke County

One person has died after sustaining injuries in a two vehicle accident on U.S. 30 in front of the Grovertown Truck Stop in Starke County this morning.

A semi hauling a wind turbine propeller was leaving the truck stop to go east on U.S. 30, escorted by four vehicles with wide-load signage. The semi and the load were completely across the westbound lane and partially across the eastbound lane. A man traveling westbound in his vehicle failed to see the semi. The man drove under the semi trailer carrying the propeller.
