Oregon-Davis School Board Accepts Donations for Art Education, Field Trips

Art education is getting a boost at Oregon-Davis. On Monday, the school board accepted a $300 grant for the Art Department from the Cheryl Lyn Welter Family Charitable Foundation, as well as a $350 grant from the Northern Indiana Community Foundation to help give kindergarten teachers resources for art projects, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.

O-D School Board Accepts Donations for T-Shirts, Lunch Accounts, Signage

A number of donations were accepted by the Oregon-Davis School Board Monday. Some students will getting new t-shirts, thanks to a pair of donations from Lee Nagai, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman. “[He] donated $100 to help with the cost of first [and second] grade t-shirts and then also 35 t-shirts that were purchased for the pep band,” Harman explains. “So we appreciate Lee Nagai’s assistance there.”

Donations Highlighted at Knox School Board Meeting

Donations for school safety training and an elementary school field trip were formally accepted by the Knox School Board last week. The school corporation received $834 from the Starke County Community Foundation’s Go for School Safety Fund. That helped with the cost of last month’s active shooter tabletop exercise for Starke County school officials and first responders. The school board also accepted a donation from the Bennett family, to help pay for the third grade field trip to Fair Oaks Farms.

$25,000 Worth of Equipment Donated to Knox High School Graphic Arts Department

Knox High School’s Graphic Arts Department is getting a major equipment upgrade, thanks to a recent donation. Compliance Signs gave the school two Roland wide body printers, valued at $12,500 each. On top of that, CutCardStock of Valparaiso has donated $450 worth of paper. The donations were officially accepted by the school board last week.
