An adjustment to Pulaski County’s building department fees will be discussed by the county commissioners tonight. Building Inspector and Plan Administrator Doug Hoover is expected to present a recommendation from the advisory plan commission. Meanwhile, a plan to once again go after unpaid EMS bills will be discussed by EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo.

Pulaski Council, Commissioners to Continue Discussing Courthouse Security, Renovations

Security at the Pulaski County Courthouse will continue to be discussed by the county council and commissioners tonight. The commissioners have limited access to a single point of entry which now will be renovated by local locksmiths 365 professionals to grant easier access and also called for the addition of security guards.

Pulaski County Council Considers Appropriating Funds for Ambulance Garage Expansion

The Pulaski County Council is moving ahead with funding arrangements for the Winamac ambulance garage. EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo reminded the county council last week that $135,000 had been budgeted for the work in 2019, but the year ended before he was able to spend much of it, since the actual construction got pushed back to this year.

With Pulaski County’s IT contractor planning to quit in January, the county commissioners this morning will hear about a couple of options for how to move forward. A representative from the Roeing Corporation is scheduled to present IT outsource information, while Mark Harvey will discuss a request to complete an IT assessment.

Pulaski Council to Discuss Budget Transfers, Additional Appropriations, 2020 Salary Matrix

The Pulaski County Council will take steps to balance line items in the 2019 budget, as the end of the year approaches. Several budget transfers will be up for the council’s approval tonight , including $240,000 for the Highway Department, and almost $47,000 for the Sheriff’s Department.

Three Construction Bids Received for Winamac Ambulance Garage Expansion

Plans to expand Pulaski County Emergency Medical Services’ Winamac ambulance garage have attracted three construction bids. TM Construction of Winamac was the apparent low bidder at just under $77,000. The highest bid was almost three times that, with J. Shoffner General Contractor of LaPorte submitting a bid for more than $221,000. Garner Construction of Hanna offered to do the work for less than $102,000.

Pulaski County Commissioners to Open Bids for Winamac Ambulance Garage Addition

The Pulaski County Commissioners will open bids for the addition to the Winamac ambulance garage tonight. EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo told the commissioners last month that the addition will bring the garage up to a total of four bays. The expansion has been discussed for years, since the county’s ambulances can barely fit in the existing space.
