Pulaski Council to Discuss Budget Transfers, Additional Appropriations, 2020 Salary Matrix

The Pulaski County Council will take steps to balance line items in the 2019 budget, as the end of the year approaches. Several budget transfers will be up for the council’s approval tonight , including $240,000 for the Highway Department, and almost $47,000 for the Sheriff’s Department.

Three Construction Bids Received for Winamac Ambulance Garage Expansion

Plans to expand Pulaski County Emergency Medical Services’ Winamac ambulance garage have attracted three construction bids. TM Construction of Winamac was the apparent low bidder at just under $77,000. The highest bid was almost three times that, with J. Shoffner General Contractor of LaPorte submitting a bid for more than $221,000. Garner Construction of Hanna offered to do the work for less than $102,000.

Pulaski County Commissioners to Open Bids for Winamac Ambulance Garage Addition

The Pulaski County Commissioners will open bids for the addition to the Winamac ambulance garage tonight. EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo told the commissioners last month that the addition will bring the garage up to a total of four bays. The expansion has been discussed for years, since the county’s ambulances can barely fit in the existing space.

Ambulance Bids, Bridge Contract to be Discussed During Pulaski County Commissioners Meeting

Ambulance bids are expected to be discussed during this morning’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting. The EMS Department had planned to purchase a truck this year. County officials have also been exploring the possibility of renting an ambulance or using a lease purchase agreement to spread out the payments.

Pulaski County EMS Staff Put on County Salary Matrix, Despite Opposition

Some members of Pulaski County’s EMS staff are getting significant pay raises, following a salary matrix update approved by the county council Monday. That was in spite of some harsh criticism from EMS Director Bryan Corn. “Before you vote, I just want to ask you guys, each and every one of you, do you guys fully understand and are you guys fully okay with what’s going to happen when you do this?” he asked council members.
