After getting dropped by its workers’ compensation provider, Pulaski County has now secured coverage for next year. The county commissioners Monday approved a policy using the Indiana state pool. The cost ended up being about $164,000, which was less than $2,000 more than the county’s policy with the Indiana Public Employers’ Plan.

The Pulaski County Commissioners will open bids for the addition to the Winamac ambulance garage tonight. EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo told the commissioners last month that the addition will bring the garage up to a total of four bays. The expansion has been discussed for years, since the county’s ambulances can barely fit in the existing space.
