Oregon-Davis School Board Accepts Donations for Art Education, Field Trips

Art education is getting a boost at Oregon-Davis. On Monday, the school board accepted a $300 grant for the Art Department from the Cheryl Lyn Welter Family Charitable Foundation, as well as a $350 grant from the Northern Indiana Community Foundation to help give kindergarten teachers resources for art projects, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.

Oregon-Davis School Board Approves School Calendar But May Revisit eLearning

Recent weather conditions have led Oregon-Davis school officials to think about reinstating eLearning. Superintendent Dr. Don Harman says the issue was discussed during Monday’s school board meeting. “Obviously, with a lot of the weather situations that we’ve had in the last several weeks, the board has asked and I’ve had community members and parents ask if we would revisit eLearning days,” he says, “so we’re going to revisit those.”

Woodworking, Band Teachers Recognized for their Efforts, During O-D School Board Meeting

Oregon-Davis’s woodworking and band teachers got some special recognition during Wednesday’s school board meeting. Superintendent Dr. Don Harman explains, “We recognized Mr. Ron Heningsmith who did create a lamp for a patron Mrs. Jensen with wood that her and her late husband donated in the name of Mr. Jensen. Also, Mr. Heningsmith and his woods courses are making coasters, Bobcat coasters, for all staff members.”
