Pulaski Commissioners Approve Purdue Extension Contract, Recycling Center Drainage Work

Purdue Extension will continue to serve Pulaski County, at least for another year. The county commissioners approved the Extension Contractual Services Agreement last week. The county agrees to pay Purdue almost $62,000. County Attorney Kevin Tankersley said the agreement is the same as it’s been every year.

Pulaski County Assessor Asks to Be Moved Out of Courthouse Basement, Amid Staff Cancer Concerns

As discussions about the future of the Pulaski County Courthouse continue, health concerns have some county departments asking to have their offices moved. During Monday’s commissioners meeting, Assessor Holly VanDerAa said she’s had five employees get cancer after working in her basement office, and one of them passed away a few weeks ago.

Pulaski Commissioners Defer Decision on Letter of Support for Panhandle Pathway Extension

The Pulaski County Commissioners aren’t ready to give a letter of support for efforts to obtain grant funding to extend the Panhandle Pathway. Plans call for the extension of the trail south to France Park and north to the Tippecanoe River State Park. A later phase would continue the Pathway north from there, to meet the North Judson Erie Trail near Bass Station.

Pulaski County Board of Finance Votes to Keep Cash Management at First National Bank of Monterey

Pulaski County is sticking with First National Bank of Monterey for its cash management. The county’s board of finance officially approved the bank’s bid Monday, at the recommendation of Treasurer Teresa Bryant. “As usual with First National, they never charge us any fees for anything and give us the best interest rate,” she explained. “1st Source really stepped up their game, as far as offering more services as far as security, but unfortunately, they’d still charge us fees.”
