1961 Commencement exercise being planned for 85 graduating Seniors at the North Judson High School. This is the largest class ever to graduate from this school. Valedictorian Marcia Gumz, Salutatorian Dorothy Weninger, Class President Harold Redlin and theme speakers Joann Vanaman, Rosalia Weninger and Elaine Abazaris.
The North Judson Class of 1961 gathered for their 65th and final class reunion, with attendees Kenny Meade traveled from Virginia, Larry and Cinda Freestone and Bob and Barbara Veselik from Ohio to be present. The event was led by Donna Button Jordan, (Adrian)who has played a significant role in organizing past reunions. A special acknowledgment was made to honor the memory of Dorothy Houdek Bau, who had recently passed away and was recognized for her contributions to the reunions. A memorial table was set up to pay tribute to the 37 classmates who have passed away. The reunion was also attended by Jim Short, Barbara Veselik, and Shirley Materna, who were members of the senior cabinet during their high school days. Donna Button Jordan’s remarks were particularly emotional as she reflected on her 70-year friendship with Dorothy Houdek Bau. The reunion provided an opportunity for classmates to reconnect and reminisce about old times.
Celebration was in Winamac catered by One Eyed Jack’s and held at their Event Center on main street.
