The Knox Planning Commission members held a lengthy discussion over accessory buildings when they met Tuesday night.
Commission Vice President John Wilson said he found a definition for accessory buildings, stating that they are essentially any outdoor structure that is detached. The Town of Culver is preparing to make sure they’re in compliance with a section of the Civil Rights Act.
During Tuesday night’s Culver Town Council meeting, a draft Title VI plan was considered. That section of federal law outlines non-discrimination compliance. The federal government also links funding to matching provisions at the local level.
The Culver Town Council intends to further discuss its zoning ordinance on Tuesday.

The Pulaski County Commissioners have given approval to an ordinance allowing the use of ATV’s for agricultural purposes.
Pulaski County’s proposed ATV ordinance is not yet ready for a vote.
The ordinance is designed to allow off-road vehicles on county roadways, largely for the purpose of agriculture. Licensing would be required for the ATV’s through the Bureau of Motor Vehicles under the current ordinance language.
Pulaski County intends to look into the use of golf carts on local roadways in the future.
The County has spent several weeks developing a draft ordinance for the use of ATV’s to observe and travel farm ground. Residents have asked, however, for Pulaski County to include golf carts in that ordinance.
There are new arrangements pending for the Culver Town Park.
During Tuesday night’s Culver Town Council meeting, an ordinance was considered that repeals the community’s Park Board. The proposal was made for myriad reasons, but improving the park department’s operation was cited as among the primary reasons behind the change.
